Defcon 2021 dates3/1/2023 ![]() hospitals, continues to be a growing problem with hacking of vulnerable medical devices. Petya, the latest malware attack that affected computers in U.S. Last spring’s ransomware attack, coined Wannacry, shut down European hospitals creating serious concerns for patients. Others have a much darker side and use their “talents” to attack countries, businesses and institutions-even putting lives in danger. They get a thrill out of the challenge and don’t cross the line to cybercrime. This is my fourth DefCon and I can safely say, hackers come in all personality types.įor some, it’s a hobby. It was a competitive atmosphere with lock-picking contests, cipher challenges, and technical pranks. People who could barely turn on computers were mingling with hackers who could break into their bank accounts within minutes. It was “Driving Miss Daisy” meets “The Matrix”. What was it like?Ī hackers’ conference held in a Vegas casino brought odd optics. Security professionals, like me, are more like “gatecrashers” at DefCon-grabbing front row seats to watch the hackers gorge on all things hackable and for us to learn how to prevent them from doing this.Īnd learn I did (some specific lessons later). Why would EO Johnson Locknet® send a Senior Engineer to attend this event? It was going to be an interesting weekend. This was only the first hour, red flags were already being raised. Programs started crashing and programs that rarely updated were automatically being updated. ![]() ![]() Though the hotel Wi-Fi was “supposed” to be a safe zone from hacking, indications came early that my tablet may have been compromised. ![]() While in my room, only my tablet was used to access the internet. In the conference area, it would remain in airplane mode with everything disabled. My laptop stayed home and my phone stayed off Wi-Fi. Warnings from conference organizers said, “Anything that can be hacked will be hacked, so trust no one.” I listened. Identities of 25,000 attendees were kept anonymous. The real “hotbed” that day was DefCon 25, the largest international hacker conference in the world. A few weeks ago, I stepped off a plane in Las Vegas. ![]()

Up-and-Coming Fall Wedding Colors We Are Loving ![]() I saw black clouds review2/28/2023 ![]() ![]() The game also suffers from the age-old issue with jittering as the game loads the correct cutscene after a decision. By the time the player knows what decision they’re making, the timer’s run out. At one stage, decision options appear and the countdown starts before the prompts/questions have even been asked. Story aside, there are moments where the game itself doesn’t play well. By “not quite what happened,” he actually means “not even remotely close” as the game’s story goes off on a completely different and seemingly unconnected direction to that we’ve seen so far. The doctor remarks to Kristina about the events so far being “not quite what happened” and she may want to have another go at retelling them. There’s also a point in the middle of the story where it takes an unexpected twist. There was one spot where Kristina suddenly acquired a head injury out of nowhere. The story also has other continuity issues. The problem is the former appeared so infrequently the relationship didn’t seem to matter, while I never spoke to the latter in two entire playthroughs with different decisions. ![]() Most interestingly, the game also measures Kristina’s relationships with Charlotte and Jack. In playthrough two where I saved Kristina’s backside at the first opportunity and left others to their fates, she was called kind-hearted and considerate. In playthrough one where I made every effort to save my friends, Kristina was dubbed self-centered and selfish. As the ending cutscene plays out, Kristina’s friend summarizes her overall personality according to her choices, but these summaries are mixed up. I Saw Black Clouds Review – Making Decisions but the Reasons Aren’t Clearĭecisions don’t just occasionally affect the overall plot they also affect Kristina’s personality traits where she’s scored in honesty, strength, morality, tact, and introspection. It almost seems as though Ghost Dog Films ran out of time or budget to film any more endings and it’s incredibly disappointing. ![]() If you pick the wrong choice, the game rewinds and you replay that section until you pick the ‘right’ sequence of choices. The worst part is the very end where the game doesn’t even pretend to care about your choices. Kristina ran back to her friend while frantically calling her name, which isn’t my definition of cautious. In one case I had the choice to be cautious or run back to my friend. In other places the game does the complete opposite to your decision. However, I made different decisions in two playthroughs yet still saw mostly the same cutscenes and got the same ending. Decisions are supposed to affect the story traits of denial, acceptance, and guilt, each of which are tied to a separate ending. If you run out of time while making a decision, the game will pick a choice for you. Those selections sometimes play out in new cutscenes based on your decisions, but there are moments where the game seems to ignore those choices. There are dozens of timed decisions to make throughout the game my initial playthrough clocked in at just under 200 choices. The amusing thing is he usually follows it up with “I don’t recommend you do that” and there are no prizes for guessing what we do or who we see next. He believes his distant relatives may be the reason behind the curse and is full of useful information to allow Kristina to get to the truth. The retired doctor with little sense of patient confidentiality is one of the most interesting characters. A special mention goes to the therapist with an intimidating bedside manner, whose “office” has a drinks trolley next to the patients’ couch while the rooms are filled with distracting pop art. There’s a reverend who is far too eager to talk about ghosts and curses despite a life rooted in the Christian faith. The characters are only there to drive the plot forward, and that purpose is often at odds with their persona. This script isn’t brilliant, although you get the sense the actors are doing the best with what they’ve been given. I Saw Black Clouds Review – Cursed in More Ways Than OneĪn interactive movie doesn’t have a lot for players to do in terms of gameplay, so the quality of the story is of utmost importance. ![]() Patrick richardson the laundry guy book2/28/2023 ![]() ![]() So far it is working well and we are very happy with it. Zote has a slightly citrusy smell, which I like better than the smell of Fels-Naptha. I use a tablespoon or two, depending on how dirty the clothes are and how big the load is. I put that into a container and repeated these steps with the other half of the Zote bar. I had laundry waiting and I had all the ingredients on hand. Several months ago I ran out of our liquid detergent and I bought some commercial detergent to tide us over (no pun intended) until I could make some more. We just made sure to shake it up before using it. We stored it in a 3- or 5-gallon bucket in our mudroom, then ladled it into an empty commercial laundry detergent bottle. ![]() I originally opted for the liquid version because it made more detergent than the powder for the amount of the ingredients used. If you’ve used the liquid version of Fels-Naptha, Borax, and Washing Soda, you know the gelatinous chunks of which I speak. He has now scored just three times in 16 appearances in all competitions, and his age is showing more and more every week. The absence of Fernandes and decision to leave Harry Maguire on the bench saw Ten Hag hand Cristiano Ronaldo the captain’s armband – but he had another frustrating day as he failed to add to his single league goal this season. United missed the presence of the injured Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Antony, as well as the suspended Bruno Fernandes as defeat leaves them three points adrift of the top four in fifth. Winning at this stadium against this opponent is an extra step for these players to believe they can do it under pressure against big opponents.” “It’s easy to say after the game, but to show it against this opponent takes courage. “For such a young team, the composure, resilience and courage they showed was phenomenal,” Arteta told BT Sport after his side became the first team to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge since Arsenal did so 4-2 in the same fixture in April. But Arteta has imbued his unexpected title contenders with a gritty character at odds with their grim history of underachievement over the last decade. In the past, that would have been the signal for a late Arsenal collapse. Holding a 1-0 lead given to them by Gabriel Magalhaes’ close-range finish in the second half, Mikel Arteta’s side had a statement victory in their grasp if they could hold firm in treacherous conditions. As the rain fell heavier at a sodden Stamford Bridge and Chelsea’s desperation increased, Arsenal were faced with the kind of high-pressure situation that has so often proved their downfall in recent years. ![]() AuthorWrite something about yourself.
